Young Man Burnt To Death For Killing A Pregnant Woman After Robbing Her

A mob yesterday burnt to death a thief who robbed and in the process killed a pregnant woman in the Mararaba Gurku area of Nasarawa State along the Abuja-Keffi expressway.

According to an eyewitness, Martins Ago, the victim had just left the bank where she went to carry out some transactions when the suspect snatched her purse containing a mobile phone and cash.

”The woman came out from a bank and the young man confronted and tried to snatch her purse. She began to fight him back after he collected it and he hit her on the stomach.
She immediately fell down, which drew the attention of the people around,” he said

The eyewitness added that immediately the woman fell down, the attacker tried to run across the road but the people ran and caught up with him.

“She was confirmed dead and this infuriated the people especially okada riders because a hammer and some nails were seen in the suspect’s pocket and you know that Okada riders are killed on almost daily basis by people who pose as passengers and whenever they reached a secluded area, they hit the riders with nails on the head killing them instantly in order to cart away their motorcycles.
Therefore, before the police arrived the scene, the mob used tires and petrol to burn him alive,” he said

Meanwhile remains of the pregnant woman has been deposited at the  Nyanya General Hospital.

Ghanaians descend heavily on Kumi Guitar for dissing Stonebwoy

Zylofon Music signee, Kumi Guitar has been ‘attacked’ for releasing a song targeted at label mate, Stonebwoy.
Kumi Guitar after releasing the song took to his Facebook to wish his fans a happy new week.

His post attracted a heavy backlash from a section of the public who appeared unhappy about his song.
The release came after Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah called for peace while indicating his readiness to resolve any impasse.

Earlier, Kumi Guitar granted an interview to www.ghanaweb.com where he said his colleague Stonebwoy was ungrateful, selfish and greedy.
According to him, the posture of Stonebwoy is a threat to the progress of Zylofon Media and the industry as a whole.

“We have to learn to give back to people who are helping us. Stonebwoy can never say Zylofon media has done nothing for him. It was Zylofon Media that paid for all Stonebwoy’s expenses including his trips, recordings and his two major concerts which were held in Ashaiman and the National Theatre. Well many Ghanaians have not taken kindly to his song and posts on Facebook and have told him their piece of mind,” he said.

Well, Kumi Guitar’s decision to release the song is certainly in unwarranted, according to some music lovers.
Here are some comments:

Video reveals why Bulldog attacked Stonebwoy

Well, news making rounds suggests that Bulldog attacked Stonebwoy and tried to take his car away from him.

However, the reason for the attacks have not been mentioned in the various reports making rounds on several portals.

But a video available to mynewsgh.com indicates that Stonebwoy before climbing on the stage of Hilla Liman Hall ordered that the JCR Executives takeaway everything that represented Zylofon Media from the venue although the show was heavily sponsored by Zylofon Cash, a subsidiary of Zylofon Media which was meant to introduce the platform to the students in the University of Ghana.

This triggered the lion in Bulldog who could not stand the sight of what Stonebwoy had done and therefore followed him to Champs where he and his thugs attacked Stonebwoy and his team.

Stonebwoy has since indicated that his manager is dealing with the attacks on him and some members of his team.

I will murder you lyrically – Shatta Wale sends ‘serious’ warning to Stonebwoy

Shatta Wale is warning Stonebwoy to be careful of him, else he would kill him lyrically like he did to Samini.
The ‘Forgetti’ hit maker posted to this Facebook page: “Stonebwoy stop that silly thing ooo, ebi so Samini do weh I kill am lyrically.”

“This beef you dey try start, you can’t win and you know from your dear heart. I am Zylofon...are you Zylofon? Answer me,” Wale added with emojis depicting an angry face.

Shatta Wale and his seemingly arch dancehall rival, Stonebwoy

It is not really clear what is fueling this new ‘beef’, but reports have it that Stonebwoy’s latest single “Dirty Enemies”, is directed at Shatta Wale.

In the song, Stonebwoy sings of how his “dirty enemies” are threatening pastors, killing the youth and also insulting people’s mothers.

He also signs of how the “dirty enemies” should be mindful of their acts before they end up in a casket.

Entertainment pundits have attributed the lyrics of Stonebwoy’s song to Shatta Wale. It features Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan.

This follows Shatta’s recent “fight” with some pastors who have predicted death for him.

He did not take the “death prophecy” lightly, and threatened to burn down churches in Ghana if he should be alive by December.

The two Zylofon artistes seems to be at each other’s throat again after they made up during Stonebwoy’s Ashaiman to the World Concert last year.

Whatever the case may be, it is wished that they quickly settle their differences and work together at growing the entertainment industry, especially now that they are both signed on o Zylofon Music.

Zylofon Music fires Stonebwoy

Information gathered by Ghana Crusader indicates, Zylofon Media has fired 2014 BET Awards winner, Stonebwoy.

Since last week we’ve been on the ground investigating the seeming turbulence in the partnership between dancehall artiste Stonebwoy and record label Zylofon; sadly our close sources indicates that Sapashini’s reportedly juicy deal with multi-billion cedis record label Zylofon has been annulled due to what grapevine insiders described as ‘insubordination and misconduct’.

These allegations are dire and it will be in the interest of the industry and the public for both parties to come out to deny or confirm them.

Was Stonebwoy indeed fired for not promoting the brand? Was that a contract requirement?
More soon….

She said told the Ghanaian Times that Agbenorxevi often taunted her by saying, “You are supposed to be in the classroom now but you are pregnant”.

At the instance of the Ghanaian Times, the girl’s mother took her to the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) to report the matter.

A DOVVSU spokesman said last week that investigations had begun into the case, adding that Agbenorxevi had been invited to assist in the investigations.

“I no dey smoke wee but wee dey my house… I just no dey sell am. It just be small quantity wey boys come them for just fire…Policeman dey fire, Soldier dey fire, let’s not be hypocritical,” Edem said.

Ghana is currently the first in Africa and third in the world when it comes to the usage of Marijuana according to a UN report in June 2017.

Cape Coast: More 10, 13 year olds getting pregnant

The Cape Coast Metro Social Welfare Department is expressing worry about the increasing rate of pregnancies among children in the area.

According to the department, Cape Coast for instance recorded 25 cases of pregnant children within the age range of 10 and 13 years between January and April last year and the figure is expected to be high this year as more children are getting pregnant with each passing day.

This was disclosed by the Cape Coast Metro Director of the Department of Social Welfare, Mr. Daniel Agyepong at a town hall meeting at Amanful, a suburb of Cape Coast.

The situation, he explained is unhealthy as more girls are abandoning the classrooms due to pregnancies with many suffering health complications during the period of pregnancies due to their inability to access quality health care.

Those who impregnate such girls, he explained mostly deny responsibility leaving such girls to fend for themselves.

The meeting was organised by the Parish Justice and Peace Commission with support from the CCMA and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) on the theme, “Community Participation in Local Governance for Rapid Development”.

Mr. Agyepong bemoaned the penchant for some parents within the metropolis to shirk their responsibilities towards their children as a major cause of the disturbing situation.

Another disturbing development, he said, is the rate at which children of school going age loiter at the beach than be in school during instructional periods.

He indicated the future for the metropolis looked bleak if parents and guardians did not take up their responsibilities and reverse the current trend. In an instance he gave, he narrated how a father had given three children, half a bottle of club Muscatella as their meal for the day at school.

Mr. Agyepong said such attitudes push the children to engage in acts that retard their development.

In another account he gave, Mr. Agyapong lamented the situation where a 14-year-old girl was pregnant but could not readily identify the father of the unborn child.

He said the girl was accusing her fourth boyfriend of being responsible, a charge the boy refused. He said the girl acknowledged having had sexual relations with three other boys.

Mr. Agyepong blamed parents for such happenings in the metropolis.
He indicated the metro assembly was still committed to educating parents on the essence of good parenting.

“The CCMA will continue to drum home the essence of good parenting until every parent in this metropolis gets to know his responsibility. Until such a feat is achieved we will not stop this education”.

God told me to marry my sister, 17, the Bible also supports it

A 25-year-old mathematics teacher who married his 17-year-old younger sister says God sanctioned the union.

Chiadikobi Ezeibekwe who works in a secondary school in the Aguata local government area of Anambra state said “there are places in the Bible that support such marriage”.

According to Chiadikobi, “by marrying one’s sibling, there will not be the possibility of introducing ugly situations, like diseases or social vices into the family.”

The wedding was reportedly conducted by Chiadikobi’s elder brother, Chijioke Ezeibekwe, who is the priest of Dwelling Fullness of God Church, Agba, Ekwulobia.

Speaking with Vanguard, the teacher who is the sixth of 10 children said, “I am a Sabbath and in searching through the scriptures, I discovered that one could marry his sibling. So, we went ahead with the arrangement to marry my younger sister.

“God told me to marry my sister and she also saw same vision. There are places in the Bible that support such marriage. Those in doubt should read Songs of Solomon chapters 4 and 5 and 1st Corinthians Chapter 7.

“Since we took this decision, I have not felt anything unusual, or felt that I did anything wrong. In the school where I teach, many people ask me about it and I boldly refer them to the Bible.

“Besides, by marrying one’s sibling, there will not be the possibility of introducing ugly situations, like diseases or social vices into the family.”

Reacting to the marriage, the traditional prime minister of Ekwulobia, Gabriel Ezeukwu, said: “Agba village youths, who saw the marriage as an abomination, set ablaze the church where the wedding took place.

“Before coming to me, they were considering various options, including whether to involve the police, resort to jungle justice or parade those involved round the town before subjecting them to other rituals,” he said.

“However, I ensured that the girl in question was subjected to rigorous pregnancy test to ascertain that she had not been impregnated by her brother and, after several tests, it was confirmed that she was not pregnant, which is a relief to everybody.”

“I Have No University Degree” -Africa’s Richest Woman, Folorunsho Alakija

Africa’s richest woman chief Mrs Folorunsho Alakija has buttressed the popular saying that successful people have serious stories. The wealthy woman took out time to inspire people who look up to her in a motivational post on her Instagram page.

The 67 year old woman who took over from America’s Oprah Winfrey to become the richest black woman on earth has revealed that contrary to what many believe about her, she has no university degree all because she came from a family where the female child was not considered important for tertiary education.

In her post, Alakija also revealed that she gave her life to Christ 27 years ago and experienced a turn around for good…

It happened almost 27 years ago when I gave my life to Christ at the age of 40 and my life has not been the same ever since, I pray your life too, will experience a total turn around.

I was born almost 67 years ago, into a large and illustrious polygamous Muslim family as number 8 out of 52 children through a father who had 8 wives.

Meanwhile, Folorunsho left the shores of Nigeria to study abroad at the tender age of 7…

Even at that age, I knew I could not afford to let my family down cause I was seen as an ambassador.

However, her dream to study law was not fulfilled because her father did not believe in investing in girls at that time.
Today, I have no university degree, but God’s glory lifted me up and I have received numerous Honorary Doctorate Degrees at home and abroad.

According to Mrs Alakija, it took her more than two and half decades to put together all that she has now… I am not an overnight success. She said.

I have had to make sacrifices like everyone else, faced challenges but never given up.

The wealthy woman said encouraging many who believed wealth was delivered to her on a platter

A State Burial for Ebony will be meaningless if…

Rapper Edem has said a state burial for dead Dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns will be meaningless if the country’s royalty systems are not worked on.

According to him, until the structures in the music industry are worked on, everything else done for the industry will be meaningless because artistes and creative people will work in pain and die in vain.

Edem who made this known in a tweet said “A state burial for Ebony would be meaningless if it doesn’t follow through with royalties for her family to benefit …We need royalty systems to work..So Creative ppl don’t work in pain and die in vain after the hard work #RipEbony

Edem has been one of the proponents for a better music industry where artistes are been paid royalties to pay for their hard work even when they are dead but the system in Ghana have failed to address such issues.

WhatsApp Introduced Payment Feature (Send and Receive Money)

This is kind of getting interesting as WhatsApp is not relenting in upgrading her services. Few days ago, WhatsApp introduced Payment feature in India and it has started rolling out to users. Very soon, it will be available to Nigeria and other African countries.

The payment feature is powered by UPI which enables users to send and receive money easily. With the new service, users can now link their bank account to their WhatsApp account via Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and begin making payments straight to another user’s bank account through a WhatsApp chat.

Users can locate the payment option in Whatsapp by tapping on the attachment B.utton placed next to the camera icon. After that, users will see the payment option along with other options such as gallery, video and others. Once clicked then a list of banks will appear on the screen and you then have to select the bank to which bank account is being linked. After selecting the account, you will just have to verify it to send the money.

WhatsApp Payment Feature, A Major Concern to Nigerian Bank

You’ll recall that sometimes last year, Telcos urges Federal Government to ban WhatsApp because the activities of ‘over-the-top’ companies like WhatsApp, Viber have adverse effects on its business and affects the sustainability of Nigeria’s telecommunications industry.

Now, analyst are saying if WhatsApp becomes very successful in payments, it may become a small bank of itself. In other words, if people decide to be leaving money in their wallets without moving them to their bank accounts, most banks would struggle [liquidity issues]”

As a Nigerian, why will I go to the ATM to make transfer that incurs charges or open bank digital wallet to make transfer when I can easily execute it directly from my WhatsApp application?

The case maybe worse for Nigerian banks because as Ekewe pointed out, most Nigerian banks are enjoying growing transaction-based fees with ATM charges and all kinds of charges including stamp duty on digital transfer.

‘After Prayers, I Would Masturbate & Watch P*rnography’

A Kenya pastor called Frederick Beuchi has made some shocking revelation about his personal life to his congregation.
The church leader said he was extremely addicted to masturbation and pornography and this subjected him a sort of mental and physical torture.

That notwithstanding he claimed he had always wanted a divine intervention to liberate him from his filthy habit.

Here’s what he shared:
The first time I watched blue movies was way back when I was in class 8 when we sneaked with my friends to a local video hall. I had never experienced it. Having been raised in strict Christian background I vowed to my 13-year-old self never to go back to watching blue movies. That night and for several weeks I was haunted as the pictures from the blue movies kept playing in my mind.
In high school, I was an active CU member. In fact, I was appointed as CU chairman in form two.

But towards the end of form two, I would see people on Saturdays watching movies in our TV hall. One night I had stayed behind to read, so as I left the hall to dormitories at around 1 am, I saw that TV was still. When I peeped to see what they were watching, right on my face as pornographic movies.

I quickly walked away. Here’s the problem I could not stop thinking about it. I finally yielded to the pressure. I was so eager for the weekends. But since I was a CU chairman and I had a character to uphold I had to be clever.
So I would sneak up to the window and feed my mind with the images. It’s dark, it’s late, I’m wondering what if the askari comes and find me hanging on the window.

My grades went low and my concentration in class fizzled out.
During holidays, that became the trend. I remember one time in form three my friend and I were accidentally locked inside the computer lab. To me that was it! The whole night I was hopping from one website to the other.
I cleared my high school, and thank God my grades were good by my standards!
After doing a course in shipping management, I got a job in a company in Mombasa. At that time, I could not help it. I was a slave of pornography.
Here’s the twist, back at home I was appointed as the youth leader in our local church. I lead church services, I talked with them, but inside I was a mess.

In my first job, there was nothing else that I was doing on my desk besides watching pornography. It did not help that they had pretty fast internet. I would quickly finish my work to get back to my hobby.

That job lasted for only four months after a big blunder that cost the company a fortune. This was after hours of watching sexual material.

My self-esteem was really low, I couldn’t even get a girlfriend because in my mind I thought they would know what I was doing in secret.

In my second job, same thing, same behaviour. In fact, it moved from bad to worse. I had started having severe headaches at this time. I would keep taking painkillers. I started getting hallucinations.

When someone was talking to me, I’d blankly be staring at empty space. Then I would scream, to chase away pictures. This happened a lot of time.

But in 2013, my sister’s epileptic condition had gotten worse as well.
I turned prayers, but every time I would backslide back to my vice. There’s a time I watched pornography for over 8 hours. Obviously masturbating in the bathroom, feeling bad and still going back to it. I was chained.

Every time I watched pornography, I would masturbate: seeking self-satisfaction

That really affected me, I would be weak, feeling guilty, self-shame and clearly, my self-esteem was at low.

You see, I couldn’t open up to anyone for fear of being judged.

I remember my prayer on this particular day. I asked God to exchange my addiction with bhang.

I had friends who were addicted to the substance, and they looked happy! I was stressed. Perhaps it would calm me down.

On that day I think I was at the end of the road. My phone was the first victim and a voice told me that I had to share my story.

The following weekend we had a youth kesha in my local church and was by default the MC. Funny thing is that the church was unusually full. So I asked if anyone had something to share. No one was standing. Silence

I found myself telling the congregation that I had something to share.
There was pin-drop silence as I narrated my story. I detailed my account in an intense one-hour long narration. You could hear paper drop. “What’s he talking about” their eyes seemed to ask me
After an hour of sharing. “I have a feeling God has begun the healing journey with me, I don’t know how many of us would like to begin this journey with me,
” I asked.
Nothing.
Even my closest friends did not come close to me. I was like the plague. They started judging me, they did not want to be associated with porn guy.
I lived with that stigma for a couple of months standing up to the rebuke of telling my story.

But a certain pastor in Mombasa helped me with advice in series of meetings. I was in a journey back to recovery.
But on my end, the struggle had just begun and it was not easy. Sometimes I could share my story, and still, watch the videos at night.

Enough was enough.

I met a guy from Teens Development Initiative that ran counselling in high school. They decided to include me as part of their team. We did over 60 schools with storytelling taking centre stage.

Without realizing it, that period had helped me heal. I had stopped watching pornographic material.
My life had been crowded by either the teen initiative or epilepsy awareness events.

I tell my story to encourage people that it’s possible to unchain from difficult vices. Refocus your mind to less harmful things.

I would later be appointed as a board member at National Epilepsy Coordination board for my efforts in creating awareness and reaching out to the affected.

Seeking help for my sister really helped me evade the vice that was eating me up.
